After practicing and teaching general pediatrics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for more than 40 years and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) for more than 30 years, Dr. Miriam Mills presently sees infants and children part-time for OMT at the site of her former pediatric practice, which also houses Natural Medicine, an acupuncture practice.
A graduate of Yale University and Baylor University’s College of Medicine, Dr. Mills, a board-certified pediatrician, has taught at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, and then established the Young People’s Clinic as a private pediatric practice in 1983. In her 36 years with YPC, she has served multiple generations of patients.

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a non-invasive, holistic medical service addressing a wide spectrum of medical issues. It is based on the premise that when the body is in good structural integration, it functions better. OMT works on multiple levels to improve the whole body – bones, muscles, connective tissues, circulation, nerves, respiration, organ function – to create balance.
Dr. Mills discovered the benefits of OMT firsthand after a car accident. She sought treatment from a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), who then encouraged her to learn OMT therapy skills that could have life-long benefits for her own patients. She began noticing remarkable changes in babies with colic and improvement in children with recurrent ear infections, respiratory problems and a myriad of other common childhood issues.
She has conducted and published research on her findings, has served on the board of the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, and has taught nationally and internationally. She is one of three MDs worldwide to share the distinction of receiving the Fellow of the Cranial Academy Award (FCA).
